Initial Consultation – $200, which will be credited toward future design fees.
At our first meeting, we will get to know each other, and have a chance to familiarize ourselves with your property. Do you want to create new outdoor spaces? Do you need to solve a problem? Is this property new for you, and you don’t know where to begin? While walking the property, we will begin to help you define what you want to achieve, and how best to proceed.
Consultation Services
If you only need a few hours of consultation services, we will provide this on an hourly basis.
Design Services
If a design is requested, we will determine a lump sum design fee at this stage. Designs usually range from $1,000 – 5,000. The Design is a collaborative process between the designer and the client, and allows for revisions along the way.
Design Process
- Plan of Existing Conditions & Site Analysis
A plan will be drawn to scale reflecting what currently exists, and we will highlight areas of interest as well as areas of concern. These provide additional insight as we move ahead.
- Concept Plan
We will create a drawing to reflect the elements requested. All hardscape such as terrace, deck, pool, pond, fountain, path(s), arbor, and steps will be shown. Planting areas will be shown, but without any plants. Emphasis will be on the flow of the spaces created.
- Final Plan
The Final Plan includes all of the hardscape elements reflected in the Concept Plan, identifying specific materials to be used. Specific plants will be labeled with name and quantity throughout the planting areas. During the final presentation, there will be photos of the plants and materials specified, together with a Cost Estimate which reflects the approximate cost of installation, and is broken down into phases as appropriate.
- Installation
You can hire Betten Landscape Design to manage the installation, or you can hire someone else. We also provide Construction Management Services on an à la carte basis, such as plant selection, stake out, meetings with contractors and plant placement.
