COMMON NAME Oleaster or Ebbing’s Silverberry
BOTANICAL NAME Elaeagnus x ebbingei
Cross between Elaeagnus macrophylla x
Elaeagnus pungens

SIZE 8-10 ft HT & SP Large, bushy, rounded shrub. Not quite as wild and wooly as Elaeagnus pungens.
FOLIAGE Leathery elliptical leaves, lustrous dark green above, silver below. Evergreen – Semi-evergreen. No thorns.
FLOWER Small, creamy white flowers in the fall. Not particularly showy, but are wonderfully fragrant.
FRUIT Reddish brown drupes up to ½” long, ripen in spring. Fruits are edible.
GROWING CONDITIONS Full Sun – Part Shade. Drought tolerant.
NOTES Deer Resistant.
